What made you choose to work at Alliance?
Several reasons: the opportunity was presented at a time that felt right, the interview process was very positive, and the firm seemed a good fit.
What have you learned so far working at Alliance?
Keeping up-to-date on technology is imperative. There’s no reason to be working harder when you can work smarter.
What has been your biggest challenge in the workforce?
Work-life balance.
What are you passionate about?
Creativity, recycling, being thrifty, energy efficiency, art, education, living in the moment, acceptance, travel, culture, and old things (vintage jewelry, furniture/décor, clothes, cars, homes, etc).
What would be the title of the autobiography of your life?
“I Missed the Memo”.
What is your favorite childhood memory?
Travelling. I loved taking off on vacations and exploring new places.
What are some of your proudest accomplishments?
My daughter. It is really great to hear someone say that I’ve done well raising her.
What was your childhood nickname and is there a story behind it?
“Somethin’ Else.” I did NOT like the name April. My parents asked me what I wanted to be called and my response was “somethin’ else!” and it stuck. By the way, I no longer dislike the name April.
What is the most interesting thing you have ever eaten?
Minty tasting termites in the rainforest of Belize! Our tour guide offered to retrieve them if we wanted to taste, so why not?
Your outfit is not complete without what?
Jewelry, lip gloss, and a smile 🙂
