When I asked Erik how he starts his day and what it takes to motivate him, he tells me 5:00 a.m. workouts and motivational podcasts get him going. “I love watching the sun come up. Every day is a new start.”
Why did you choose Architecture?
Since my childhood, I always had the idea of becoming an architect. I was fascinated with buildings and I was always drawing in a sketch pad that I carried with me.
What is the first concert you attended?
Korn and Rob Zombie. It was awesome!
What is the one thing that makes you more productive on your projects?
Exercising/working out gives me energy for the day.
If you had one meal to eat every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Chipotle. I kind of already do though…
Who is your favorite Architect/Designer?
I have been a fan of Thomas Heatherwick for a while now. He’s versatile in many disciplines of design.
Dream destination?
Tokyo, Japan. I’ve always been interested in their culture and of course, the architecture there!
Most important quality needed for success?
Consistency. Have the drive to continue growing. Never be satisfied with where you are in life, always have new goals to reach.
