A California-based company that provides products for correctional facilities is ramping up its Texas distribution operations.
Union Supply Group is leasing more than 380,000 square feet of industrial space near DFW International Airport.
The lease at 2500 Regent Blvd. was one of the largest industrial deals signed in the D-FW area in the second quarter.
Union Supply plans to move into the building later this year, according to filings with the state and information provided by commercial real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield.
The building is located on the north side of DFW Airport between State Highway 114 and Interstate 635.
Richardson-based Alliance Architects is designing the new shipping hub.
The 10-year-old building is owned by Invesco Real Estate and is marketed by Lincoln Property Co.
Founded in 1991, Union Supply provides food products, apparel, electronics and hard-goods to commissaries and canteens in state and federal correctional facilities across the nation.
The company operates out of distribution centers in California, Ohio, Florida and Texas.
Union Supply has a regional office in Irving.
The lease to Union Supply is just the latest in a series of recent large industrial transactions in North Texas.
So far in 2020, businesses have net leased more than 16 million square feet of D-FW warehouse and distribution space.
And more than 23 million square feet of additional warehouses are under construction in the area.
