DEA District Headquarters was designed to house local, county, state, federal and military law enforcement agencies in an effort to enhance coordination between all the agencies in the McAllen District. In addition to the four level office building, there is an attached warehouse which stores all evidence confiscated. Incorporated into the front portion of the office is a dedicated secured Sally port for the transfer of arrestees to one of the four in-house holding cells for booking and processing.
The facility features both open and private conference rooms, detention rooms for contraband, high-level security systems, and a two-level below-grade parking structure with secured entry. The building’s glass system incorporates a blast resistant construction for additional protection of the occupants.
