Derek Broussard is an invaluable part of the design team at Alliance Architects, Inc. and is another Louisiana native!
Why did you choose Architecture/Design?
I’ve always liked to design and sketch out my ideas, so that kind of led me towards design and architecture.
What has been your favorite part of working at Alliance?
Everyone is friendly and willing to help with any questions I may have, so it has been great to learn new things.
What are your hopes for our industry?
I always hope our industry can make the world we live in, an actual better place to live in, for everyone.
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life what would it be?
Pork chops with rice and gravy.
Early morning or late at night?
Both. I’m usually full of energy for both, but crashing during the day. I’m kind of backward in that way.
What did you want to be when growing up?
The only other thing I wanted to do was to be a vet, so I could help animals.
Probably somewhere around Asia. I think to be able to experience the different culture and architecture would be amazing.
Most important quality needed for success?
I think you must always remember what it is you strive for, and stick to it, even through the hardest times. After that is when you feel the most successful.
